"Mediocre" comes from very dark moments in my life; especially the struggle of being bipolar. In the darkest of times, I became immobilized; struggling with life changes, being wrongly medicated, a revolving door of self-absorbed/non value add psychologists, and finding addiction as the pain reliever.It also is a bright moment in my life as songwriting is the ultimate manifestation of healing since you are finally in a place to reflect, articulate, share to help others to relate, help. I believe the song is timely based on all we are facing today in a Covid-19 world. Becoming and being "Mediocre" is a base line of sorts; giving one a reason to celebrate even the smallest of victories that exceed expectation.
